Motion Project: Research on Animation/Illustration Style

For my characters I wanted to inspire myself from Asterix and Obelix and The Smurf as I think this will look pleasant and funny for a young audience. However I want to make the style a little bit like Johnny Test and Futurama which are a bit more linear kind of lines everywhere. I also really like how Futurama has some light shading on it's characters

As for the background I decided to refer to the style of We Bare Bears and Phineas and Ferb which contain some very light details and textures. I don't want it to stand out too much compared to most of the old cartoons that has very elaborate background and very simple characters.

I also watched a video on how to work in 3D space in Toon Boom by Maticsse Verheyden, So I was thinking of trying this our too.
