Progress Week 10

Everything Connects Leaflet

So when researching on IR 4.0 I found that a major part of it is "the internet of things" which means that everything is connected, so I kind of used that to come up with this design and this this the first pg done

I still have lot of works on this one but this is the layout that I felt more appropriate for it

After tutorial my lecturer told me try to shorten the paragraph a little and use humor to make it in a more friendly/comforting tone of voice. She also told me to explain more on the skillset part.

Portfolio

For my portfolio, these are my connections and things that I came up with

Musical Note – Sounds boring alone but if you persist on trying to make it sound good, it becomes more interesting when apply different techniques when playing

Chord – Image Brief – Understanding

Chord – Create the first mood of the song which can give you an idea of what kind of song you are trying to make

Image Brief – Made me realize what kind of designer I want to be because I realized I like illustrating (somehow creating the first mood of me as a designer)

Chord – A chord has more emotion to it which makes that you can use it to show certain emotions which is what you do when you’re being understanding towards someone

Image Brief – I used my image brief to show the emotions that I understood while exploring brickfields

Riff – Animation – Funny

Progress

Riff – Combination of notes and chords and give the song a style/genre

Animation – Found a style of illustration that I like doing (Gave me my style as a designer)

Value

Riff – Can be used to play with audience’s feeling because it has a lot more emotions to it

Animation – I played with the feeling of the animation by including some funny elements to it like people jumping around scared and people puffed up to make something scientific seem more interesting

Melody - Exploring Sugar - Happy

Melody – Embellish the riff and makes the feeling of the riff more vibrant

Exploring Sugar – I embellish the style that I found and made it even better

Value

Melody – Make a song more enjoyable and beautiful which makes you feel more happy to listen to it

Exploring Sugar – I used vibrant colours and make it very colourful to show how happy the experiment will make you feel

After that I was thinking to use these simple illustrations on the portfolio and make it more elaborated, maybe add eyes and stuff.

Here's the phrases that I came up with to explain everything in a simple way in the portfolio.

1st pg front

To make any song I first start with a musical note just like when I’m designing, I start with a sketch. However, a mere musical note sounds boring alone right?

But fear not! Just like sketches can look better with different techniques, if I persevere and applying different techniques with my musical note, I can make it sound more interesting too.

2nd pg. front

Ok now that I have my musical note, I can spice it up a bit. By combining few notes together and making a chord, I can create the first mood of the song which can give me an idea of what kind of song I’m making just like illustrating made me realize what kind of designer I wanted to be.

Great! Now I can start to make the song by combining some chords and some notes together and this way I can get the genre or style of song that I’m making just like how I found a cool illustration style that I like with my animation

Riffs can be used to play with the atmosphere and feeling of a song, and Oh! I did that with my animation, I used my funny personality to make something boring seems more interesting and fun for children.

4th pg. front

Ok, now that I have the main riff of the song I can add some melody to it to make it make the atmosphere/ feeling that I gave it with the riff more vibrant and more colorful like how I refined that illustration style that I liked in my exploring sugar.

A melody makes a song sound more complete and more enjoyable like how that illustration style that I refined seems more complete and looks better and this just makes me feel what I like to feel the most which is happiness.

After Tutorial with my lecturer, she told me that the connections are good but the Idea for the illustration is not good and she suggested me a few abstract art to look at for the illustrations.
