Fixing Button and Experimenting with Glue

So I've managed to fix the hide and show by just adding an X button when the image appear. at the same time I took the time to try to make the object recognize this whole arrangement I have made with the cardboard, hand cream, hand sanitizer and a piece of metal that was laying around in the apartment to act as a mock up of the model I want to make and I only highlighted the hand cream to see if it is working and it was.

And lastly I had to see if it will work with different boxes acting as button and here's what I was able to make, and it was working perfectly fine.

After that I've interviewed some people about the plastic objects that they have in their house and I listed down the objects that most of them have in common so that I can put more focus on these objects or something.

Well now that I know I could keep going with this idea, I went on watching a few videos of model making and get some ideas

a few videos I've watched:

This was the first video I have watched and it made me realized that I could try to use fabric as well.

This video I've watched mainly to see how I can make water pipes and which watching it I also got a lot of ideas.

I found this video quite useful to watch because I am making a model with a lot of plastic objects.

I really like this one because all the objects were made with just paper which makes it eco-friendly.

These videos were very insightful however I am restricted from using plastic to support the cause of my project, and in those videos a lot of plastic has been used so this will be a challenge.

I also wanted to try to make sketches of the model, how I wanted it to look to work as a reference or a starting point. I also changed my mind from wanting to make it like a real full house or apartment with all the plastic objects but instead I'm thinking of making it into a sort of studio apartment where most of the things are in 1 room or maybe just a 2 room model with the plastic objects that most people I've interview have.

Before jumping into making the model, I realized that glue isn't really eco-friendly and I wanted to try to make my model as eco friendly as possible so I went on making some research on organic ecofriendly glue that I could use instead and I found a few.

These are the 2 videos I've watched to learn about the glues:

So yeah I tried to make them and test them to see which will suit my project better.

ree

This was the very first one, plain and simple water mix with flour and that's all.

ree

The second one, same thing, water and flour but this time I've cooked it.

And this one was with gelatin and I don't know if it turned out well but it sure did not looked like in the video I've watched.

But well it sure is sticky though, feels like real glue. I just hope it doesn't spoil easily or else it's look lot more disgusting haha 😂.

This one was the most accurate that I made and it turned out a lot like in the video, tbh I was more excited to test this one out than the others.

And here are my bad boys... 😄

And this is the test that I've made, I just tried to glue cardboard because it's usually doesn't glue well with cheap paper glue so I thought it would make a good test. I also glued a small white paper on top just to see how the glue works on thin paper also.

Well for the sake of explanation let's label them from left to right

A - Flour with water

B - Cooked flour with water

C - Cooked flour, corn flour, baking soda, sugar and salt

D - Gelatin and milk

First up A, A got spoiled over night and became really disgusting and smelly. When A dried up, you can still see the white of the flour and it held better than I expected but amongst the other it was still the weakest.

The second one B. B held better than A and was satisfactory enough for me to make a model with it. And great thing it did lot stay white, it became transparent.

C was stronger with the cardboard but weaker with the thin paper, well I don't know if it was because of the way I applied it but I expected it to be stronger. However it's still better than B when gluing cardboard. Good thing that I got more of C than B. 😁

And finally the last one C. To my disappointment C dried up over night and I had to pour hot water in it and mix for quite a while for it to become glue like again. However it held way better than all the other glues. it even tear the cardboard when I tried to disassemble it. Oh and also when applying C it was really cloggy and messier than the others, so that's another disadvantage. However I think I can use C for heavy duty gluing in the model.

So yeah next I tried to make a television, not sure if I'm gonna use it for the model but I just wanted to see how the glue work. So I didn't measure anything I just did it out of the blue roughly and below is the final outcome.

I used C for to glue the TV stand, it took some time to dry like an hour or something but damn it glues well. To be honest I was pretty surprised seeing it staying up on it's own because at some point when it wasn't completely dried it seemed like it wouldn't work.
