So we had a class about icons, index and symbols.
Icons are more direct, however index is indirect and symbol on the other hand is abstract.
We were then asked to make 50 signs related to our project and categorize them as icon, index and symbol.

The exercise was pretty easy at first but then I started having blocks so I had to google some stuffs run through my research and survey to find stuffs to doodle haha. Among those you can see weird things like mushroom, apple, olive (that may look like grapes idk) that may seem unrelated to my subject, but they are actually some stuffs that people use to make bioplastic.
I had a lot of confusion with index and icon like for example the crab in the index part I thought I needed to put it in icon but I later on decided to put it in index and I want to convey the idea of shell creatures in the ocean which is also another thing people use to make bioplastic.
For the symbol however, it was pretty much a pain because I couldn't really make up symbols of my own. I drew a lot of symbols that already exist but I did try to do a few of my own just to experience creating a symbol but I don't know if I did well or not.
There are also some weird stuff like people thinking, engines insides a person head and circular economy symbol in another person's head and these are because I wanted to know what people think about the issue of pollution.
The whole exercise even though it was hard at the end it was really fun to do and I really enjoyed it as I like doing these simple easy sketches. I find it pretty relaxing. But I don't really know if I did good in this exercise as I'm still pretty much confused between icon and index.
