CLASS
We learnt about making a research overview after researching and we had a little class activity of reading through an article and writing our research overview on blackboard's discussion board.
Here's my research overview:
The article is about a new recycling label that helps consumers to understand really how to recycle because not everywhere people recycle properly. The new label also has some bigger regulations on who can use it or not this way they ensure that only 100% recyclable products are using it.
But still the same problems remains as in some countries, the government does not do anything to encourage recycling. Another reason why it will not be very effective in my point of view is because people almost do not care about what is on the packaging, some people may go and look for what is How2Recycle but many will just see that it is recyclable and will just do what they usually do with recyclable products. So how effective it will be, I believe that this will depend on different communities.

After looking at it our lecturer told me that it was ok which is cool because I was skeptical as I wrote this in a rush so I know I could do better for a more professional research overview.
I AM AMPLIFIER
I forgot to document my progress last time so, yeah, quite a lot happened
After being reminded by my lecturer that this project is more about what I think personally a responsibility of a designer was I realized that both of the ideas I came up with were more based on what I read instead of what I think. And lately I've been thinking about sustainability a lot and I really like the idea of circular economy so I wanted to make my placard about that.
Here are a few words I came up with while thinking about it:
Join the Loop
Don't leave footprints behind
Design for sustainability not beauty
Watch your steps
I thought about direct stuffs like "be green" "be circular" but it was too common so I decided not to used them in case it may become a problem. So instead I chose "join the loop" which at the time was making sense to me.
And here are sketches of my ideas

So I went to a park nearby and took some picture and collected some leaves to do some trials. Here are the pictures I took and the trials I made with the leaves I collected. I also thought using an aluminum foil's texture might be useful and it was.
Here are what I did digitally
I didn't really liked the first 4, the 5th and the 6th were ok but the picture quality was soo bad that I decided to do another trial which is the last one which I really liked. I used the same typo that I used for the first 4 except I added the texture from the aluminum foil to it to make it look more like it's degrading and it was lit.
After tutorial, my lecture told me that "join the loop" seems like I'm telling designers to join the trend so she told me to change it. Then I asked her about "be circular" if it would be ok to use something common as that and she told me it was fine. So great I got the idea to try to do the same thing I did with the last "join the loop" and see what's the result.
The outcome turned out to be better than I expected. It give the idea of decomposing and recomposing which is what circular economy is about, the product made degrade and becomes mineral for new plants to grow. I really love the first one, the third and the fourth.
I also got another idea of making it in a circular form and well I did not know what else to do. But while doing it I got the idea to put an earth in the middle and after that I was thinking of putting some leaf prints inside the world or something but then I got the idea of arranging the leaves as a world and I thought it would be more interesting to I tried it.

and here are my trials.
After making the first one I thought of using the same texture I used for the first idea and do the same clipping process and all but after doing it, i thought that the picture is taking too much attention from the world and the style does not really match, so I did another one with just the texture.
GD MAP
For my GD map I've been having some troubles focusing. I realized doing personal projects like this and the portfolio I always get these "blocks"
Well I wanted to do something with illustrations and all but didn't really had a concept or whatever. So as usual I did a mindmap.

Still confused and thinking about I Am Amplifier I related my work to the 4 elements because it depicts nature. So I went on looking for ideas and made a moodboard.

Then I did a little sketch just to see where this idea could bring me and I was thinking I could use different skill/method for this piece to show how experimental I am because I always learn new things with each projects.

But I didn't like how it was going so I tried make some sort of a plan in the same map we god for the Think back sheets.
After that I did another sketch based on the plan I made but still didn't like it

So I went on thinking again. And I realized that I feel like playing when designing. It's sort of a fun experimentation/ explorations and I was able to relate it to travelling. Travelling because it's fun exploration and you always learn new things. It also relates back to what I drew on my I Am Here Where Are You sheet. Then I thought of a map literally. Like a fun treasure hunt map or a board game map. It give the idea of exploring and discovering and fun at the same time. On top of that I thought that the idea of 4 elements could be merged with this.
Well this is not properly done but here's a sketch of how I could make the treasure hunt map by including the 4 elements.

And here's a moodboard for it
