So today we learnt about Haiku which is a 3 sentence kind of poem consisting of 5 syllabus in the first sentence and 7 in the second then back again 5 in the last one.

So we were divided into groups and we were asked to write a haiku based on some topics. My group chose the topic "Monday morning" and "Public Transport"

And here's our Haikus, for Monday morning because we all hated to wake up early to go to school so we wrote really negative things about it, and the Haiku is also really funny too haha.

For public transport in my country buses were really crowded and even here in Malaysia the train can get very crowded too so we thought of what we felt in the train and we fell crowded like in a Sardine can and we feel sweaty and annoyed, so yeah again really negative stuffs haha.

After this exercise our lecturer taught us about hierarchy in typography and we also learnt about CRAP.

C- Contrast

R- Repetition

A- Alignment

P- Proximity

Well basically this CRAP thing make me thing of a sort of texture or something that does not really have to be only for typography but can also be used for any designs in general. And then we got the task to use this knowledge to create another haiku based on words from magazines or journals.

So this is the Haiku we came up with which is about accepting who you are. we had to go a bit crazy and make some word alphabet by alphabet because we could not find a good fitting word but well we tried to put emphasis on some words like "when", "inside" and "N' like "and" to attract the attention of the reader as these words are important in that phrase. And we were also lucky to find a very nice font for the "peace".

So in overall we learnt a nice way to pass a message in a very simple and beautiful way with the Haiku and we also learnt to use different ways to make a typography which does not implies digital. We also learnt about ways to organize typography to pass a message better. However the Haiku cannot be used to pass all kind of messages.
